What should I wear?

Comfortable, loose fitting clothes.

What should I bring?

Bring along any x-rays/scans or referral letters

What should I do after my treatment?

  • Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water
  • Occasionally some patients may feel a bit sore after treatment – this can last from 24-72 hours. A heat pack to the area may assist.

How many treatments will I need?

This is difficult to answer – it depends on a number of factors such as the condition, how long you have had it for, your general health and how you respond to treatment.

Is it covered by Medicare?

Depending on the condition and its chronicity some patients may be eligible for a Chronic Disease Management Plan. Osteopathic services can be accessed under this plan. Please discuss with your GP for further information.

Do I need a referral?

No – unless you are looking to be cared for under a Chronic Disease Management Plan.

Can Osteopaths treat children?

Yes – we can! Osteopaths can treat patients of all ages. Osteopaths will consider the developmental stage of your child and their body to determine the appropriate treatment.

Can I go to the gym afterwards!

Yes depending on the activity and your condition. Your Osteopath will give specific advice during your consult.
